Fenugreek seeds come from the Trichonella foenum-graecum, a Lucerne like plant which is native to the Mediterranean region. Fenugreek has a long history as medicinal herb, the medical benefits of the fenugreek plant were known already in the Antiquity. Fenugreek seeds are ground into a fine yellow powder, which is widely used in natural products that improve health of man and animal. Fenugreek is known to support the respiratory system, relieves congestion, reduces inflammation and fights infections.

Fenugreek powder is a natural source of vitamin A, B1, C, E, lime, phosphates, and lecithin, organic iron that can quickly be absorbed. Fenugreek contains a mucilaginous fibre that can absorb and hold large amounts of water. The dissolved powder gets slimy. Use:

Fenugreek powder can be fed dry with the horse feed, but it is preferable to mix fenugreek with the wet meal: the slimy and mucous ingredients then dissolve.

Daily dose :

Adult horses 20-80 gram per day (1 spoon full = 20 g), pony's 10-40 g per day, preferably spread in two portions.
